Final 3 Wild Cards Set

The remaining 3 wild cards have been announced for the LG&T Tennis Challenger. Wild card status has been awarded to Lester Cook (USA), Cecil Mamiit (Philippines), and Prakash Amritraj (IND). Additional biographies on these players follow.

Lester Cook (USA)

  • 25 years old, born 4/24/84 in Calabasas, Ca, resides Marina Del Rey Ca., 5’11’’, 165 lbs. Current ATP ranking 316
  • 24-15 record this year in Challenger and Futures level events
  • Has reached the quarter-finals in 3 Challenger level events, and semi-finals in 1 Challenger event this year
  • Winner of the Texas Futures event this year

Cecil Mamiit (Philippines)

Fifth appearance at the Binghamton Challenger. In his first appearance in 1996, reached the quarter-finals as a wild card entry. Current ATP ranking is 427, career high ranking 72 (1999) 33 years old, born 2/27/76 in Los Angeles, Ca, resides Los Angeles Ca., 5’8’’, 155 lbs. Turned pro in 1996 after winning the NCAA singles title at USC as a freshman, the first freshman to win the title since John McEnroe in 1978.

Prakash Amritraj (IND)
