Second Round Singles Completed: Capdeville in the Quarters

Last years reigning LG&T Champion Paul Capdeville defeated qualifier Igor Sijsling in the feature match tonight, 6-4, 6-4. Capdeville is the number 2 seed this year, and currently holds an ATP ranking of 104, down from his all time best ranking of 76 last May. He will be back in action tomorrow facing Sergei Bubka Jr. Bubka is the son of Olympic Pole Vault gold medalist Sergei Bubka Sr.

Rik de Voest and Scott Lipsky continued their march to the finals today, dispatching Amir Hadad and Harel Levy, both of Israel. De Voest and Lipsky have both been doubles finalists in Binghamton previously. De Voest in 2004 with Nathan Healey as a partner, Lipsky in 2005 with David Martin as a partner.

Wild Card entry Lester Cook is the lone American remaining in the men’s singles draw.
