Qualifier First and Second Round Results

Richard Bloomfield and Alberto Francis (USA), the number 1 and 2 seeds in the qualifier draw, automatically advanced to the main draw due to the withdraw of Armando Hugo (USA) and Ryan Sweeting (USA). In today's qualifying matches, the number 3 seed was eliminated while the number 4 seed moved on. Uladzimir Ignatik from Belarus had a bye in the first round, then lost in a close second round match to an impressive Luigi D'Agord from Italy, 6-4, 7-6 (3). The number 4 qualifier seed, Luka Gregorc from Slovakia also had a bye in the first round, then defeated Milan Pokrajac in a tense 3-set match, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. Attached are the results in the first day of qualifying. Despite a nearly 2 hour interruption from a passing storm, all matches were completed with the exception of the Eric Nunez (USA) Travis Rettenmaier (USA) match, which was halted by darkness with Nunez leading 6-3, 3-1.
