Archives 2006 - Tournament Recap
Another memorable one
Another year has finished. Certainly some highs and lows in this one. Here are some of the highlights:
-The finals day as a whole. Almost all participation was mature and professional... some class shining through even. Hats off to that.
-The doubles final. That was an exciting match, and certainly cried for a 3rd regular set.
-Oudsema-Healey... Healey is intense... he threw himself around the court, and it was 3 tiebreakers.
-Lacko-Luczak... Lacko taking the first step... some good long rallies and point setups in this one... the way it used to be.
-the final having 2 young guys with their best results ever, and then Oudsema... the youngest American to ever win here, that certainly is a good sign. They faced match points earlier in the week too.
-Philippoussis-Okun... Mark showed some of his better form that night.
-That Tuesday evening with Wessels-Delic and Philippoussis-Lee
-The record crowds
-Who will we see at the Open? Philippoussis. Oudsema. Who else?
-The record crowds and the special events
